Etsy vintage sellers claim their Bubble Necklaces from a decade ago date from the 1950s through the 1990s #etsysellsvintage

It seems that yard sales are infested with Made in China statement necklaces from a decade or so ago.  Almost as soon as these styles began to disappear from "handmade" reseller shops on the site -- and were declared out of style by fashion bloggers, with a statement of relief, in some cases -- they began to appear in different Etsy shops, now pretending to be "vintage".

How could this happen?  Fashion trends that happened after internet use became popular are the easiest to date because blog posts and fashion articles published when they were in style are easy to find online.  The only reason a vintage dealer would mistakenly list a bubble necklace as being 50 years old (from the 1970s) is because they never did any research.  One silly Etsygirl shop owner pulls a date for some pre-loved item out of a dark place where the sun doesn't shine, and a bunch of dumb bunnies follow her lead.

I thought it might be entertaining to include a bunch of links in this post that help date a Bubble Necklace you can find at thrift shops, flea markets, and yard sales.  And for more entertainment, a selection of links to Bubble Necklaces listed as "vintage" on Etsy, with dating, pricing, and photos.  As these fauxtiques sell, I will note it here.  Because it's fun to see what Etsygirl shoppers will (over)pay for cheapie Chinese sweatshop jewelry.

Links to online blogs and articles about the Bubble Necklace trend!

And there are dozens more reference links out there, if you look.

Here are the Bubble Necklaces currently listed as "vintage" in Etsy shops!

1.  Here's a turquoise blue bubble necklace listed by UniquelyAntiqueCo as "vintage from the 1960s" -- which is about 50 years earlier than its date of manufacture.  The listing includes just one photo, and there is NO information in the listing about materials, length, or marks.  Priced at $25 PLUS SHIPPING.

2.  Here's a multi color bubble necklace by IMAN Global Chic listed by LizsVintageJewelry as "vintage from the 1990s".  This the application process for this brand was started in 2007, so Pants On Fire!  Priced at $26 PLUS SHIPPING.

3.  Here's a orange bubble necklace listed by RetroRomanticShop as "vintage from before 2000".  The seller honestly discloses that the gold plating shows wear on the back -- this a low end version of the style which will continue to de-plate with wear.  Priced at $25.

4.  Here's a two-tone sky blue and aqua blue bubble necklace listed by VintageSavvyDiva pretending to be "vintage from before 2000".  This shop has earned Star Seller status -- proving once again that this is no guarantee that you are buying from an honest seller!  The bubble necklace is NOT the only piece listed in the shop that dates from the decade just passed.  Priced at $43.15.

5.  Here's a brown bubble necklace marked Robert Rose listed by ElegantJewelsforyou pretending to be "vintage".  Priced at $30 PLUS SHIPPING.

6.  Here's a blue tie dye effect bubble necklace listed by OUTFITSPARKLE pretending to be "vintage from before 2000".  Just looking through the jewelry listings, I saw more than a dozen pieces that do NOT date from the last decade.  Priced at $17.99.

7.  Here's a rust red bubble necklace listed by NeuroticaVtg pretending to be "vintage from the 1970s" -- even though the listing states it has a "lobster clasp".  That alone means it's not older than circa 1990.  The material for the bubbles and dangles is mistakenly listed as "glass" -- it's resin.  The seller honestly discloses that the gold plating shows wear on the chain and clasp -- which will continue to de-plate with wear.  Priced at $18.  06/27:  listing deactivated.

8.  Here's a two-tone pea green and pale blue bubble necklace listed by MickisVintageJewelry pretending to be "vintage from the 1990s".  Priced at $26.99 PLUS SHIPPING.

9.  Here's a tagged J. Crew coral orange bubble necklace listed by theoldspinsterlady1 pretending to be "vintage".  Priced at $15 PLUS SHIPPING -- this one is the best deal of the lot!

10.  Here's a two-tone white and cream bubble necklace listed by StuffAndThangs4U pretending to be "vintage from before 2000".  Priced at $8 PLUS SHIPPING.  06/27:  SOLD

11.  Here's a green bubble necklace listed by DreamCottageAntiques pretending to be "vintage from the 1950s".  Again, the seller mentions the lobster clasp, which dates the necklace as at least 4 decades newer.  Priced at $14.95 PLUS SHIPPING.

12.  Here's a golden yellow with natural wood beads bubble necklace listed by HisnMineExoticFinds pretending to be "vintage from before 2000".  Priced at $19 PLUS SHIPPING.

Promotional features on the Etsy Home Page do NOT include vintage items.

Etsy is treating Vintage with ignore, again.

There is an "Explore" feature on my version of Etsy's Home Page that shows a group of items that are Clothing and Jewelry, Kids' Clothes and Toys, Dining and Entertaining, Your Interests, and Home Decor.

Under each heading is a tag cloud.  The tag cloud does NOT include Vintage for any Explore category feature except Home Decor.

But, when you select the Vintage tag, it shows 6 thumbnails -- all 6 of them are NEW items, not Vintage at all.

When you click the link to "shop all" it gets even worse!  Here are some of the fake vintage items from the first page:

1.  Meet fake vintage reseller MagnoliaCandle59 who has so far sold more than 8000 items.  The shop's name relates to less than a handful of candle items that were their earliest sales.  Now they are straight up reselling contemporary mass made decor stuff, listed in various quantities, pretending to be "vintage".  Page one includes this cast iron Turtle Crossing garden stake sign pretending to be "vintage".  Currently there are 36 units available, priced at $18.99.

It's easy to find for sale on Amazon and eBay of course.  But you can also find it for sale in another Etsy shop.  CastIronHook sells the same item pretending to be "handmade" priced at $18.49 with 93 units available.

But, wait!  Etsy included more than one item from this fake vintage reseller on page one.  Here's a fake vintage cast iron set of 2 bunny rabbits pretending to be "vintage".  Currently the shop has 16 sets available priced at $19.99.  The description gives all the info on the vintage provenance:

Here's 2 great cast iron rabbits. Made just like the ones of the past. These have the same look of the antiques, but at a much lower price!

And another one!  Also on page one is this fake vintage cast iron mermaid pretending to be "vintage".  Fifteen units available priced at $19.99.  The description gives the vintage provenance:

Here's a great wall plaque or sign. Made just like the ones of the past. These have the same look of the antiques, but at a much lower price!

2.  Meet fake vintage reseller PickinandAGrinninCo who has so far sold more than 500 items.  Page one includes their fake vintage Wash Your Wiener sign pretending to be "vintage from before 2000".  But the description discloses the vintage provenance:

Sign is BRAND NEW with a Vintage Retro Farmhouse Look Perfect size for shelf or wall decor arrangements. Bathroom Decor Outhouse Decor

Uh huh.  Two units available.  Priced at $12.99 PLUS SHIPPING.

Easy to find on Amazon where no one is pretending it's old.

3.  Meet fake vintage reseller FitMine who has already sold 44 imported brass items.  Included on page one is this fake vintage brass kneeling man phallus paper weight pretending to be BOTH "handmade" and "vintage from before 2000".  The description tells the amazing "vintage handmade" story:

this is collectio of mine from2000s
Package include:1 penis

The shop has already sold 5 units of this item, but maybe you need (at least!) six of these for a personal collection.  Priced at $45.  Easy to find on eBay shipping from China (heh) and listed as NEW with 4 units available

4.  Meet fake vintage reseller UncannyPrintsUK who sells newly made prints of vintage images dated as the original.  Included on page one is this fake vintage copy of an image of bats from 1904 pretending to be BOTH "handmade" and "vintage from the 1900s".  The vintage provenance is given in detail in the description:

All of my illustrations have been digitally retouched and restored to the highest quality possible but due to the age of these artworks there may be some small imperfections.

The colours may also vary depending on monitor type and settings.

All items in the store are scanned and printed on professional photographic equipment and paper.

I use high quality matte photographic paper to preserve the details of the images and retain the authenticity of the artworks.

Which makes as clear as can be that this item is NEW.  Three units available, priced at $10.02.

5.  Meet fake vintage reseller VintageHearts01 who has already sold 188 items included "Southern Living at Home" items which are NOT pre-2000 as the shop owner falsely claims.  Less than 1 minute of research turned up an original press release announcing this home party plan, and it dates to 2002.  So all of these products are newer than 2000.  Included on page one is this fake vintage Southern Living at Home Gail Pittman Red Bountiful bowl pretending to be "vintage from before 2000" -- it will be 20 years old in 2029.  Priced at $25 PLUS SHIPPING.

6.  Meet fake vintage reseller Antiquephotoarchive who has already sold nearly 39,000 repops of vintage photographs.  The shop's Announcement says they sell "expert print reproductions" -- which means NEW outside the mendacious Etsyverse.  Included on page one is this fake vintage reproduction of a photo of a baby working out (it's cute) pretending to be BOTH "handmade" and "vintage from the 1940s".  The description includes the vintage provenance:

All photo reproductions are digitally processed and printed in high resolution. They are the highest quality professional photo print reproduction available on the market. We offer various print sizes. We also offer larger custom sizes and photo searches upon request.

Available in 6 print sizes priced from $6.85 to $32.85.  This shop has earned Etsy Star Seller Status for selling fauxtiques.

There are some actual vintage items on page one that were not chosen as featured thumbnails because on Etsy you can't promote "vintage" by showing items that are actually 20+ years old.

Etsy reseller Goodtimesvtg still listing items factory fresh from China as Vintage from 40 or more years ago -- and Etsy shoppers are loving it! #etsysellsvintage

Dunno about you, but I sometimes wonder if Etsy is really a long-term experiment to test the stupidity of the average human.  There are too many deceptive shop owners (re)selling on the site to count, and an almost unbelievable number of buyers who want to pay the Etsy Reseller Stupid Tax when they overpay to purchase cheapie products mass made in Chinese factories pretending to be "handmade" by the shop or 20+ year old "vintage".

06/03/22:  shop is CLOSED.

Notorious fake vintage reseller Goodtimesvtg is still creating deceptive listings for her Etsy shop, as she has been for more than 4 years now.  (My most recent post about this mendacious reseller is HERE and you can follow links in previous posts about Goodtimesvtg back to the first one dated August 2016.)  Just listed yesterday is this new contemporary women's bracelet watch by Saigo pretending to be "Vintage from the 1980s".  Priced at $199, sure to attract the kind of dumb bunny Etsy buyer who longs to pay that amount for a watch the sells on the market as I type for $25 or much less.

If you want one of these watches, there are handful of online listings for it -- and you will save a lot of money buying from an honest merchant, as opposed to the mendacious Goodtimesvtg!  Get it from Times and Jewelry on sale for $17.95.  Just $24.98 at Vova   Bottom feeder site Wish has it for just $8 (the original price given in the listing is $174 -- still lower than Goodtimesvtg -- and claims the thinestones are "diamonds").  It's sold out on Amazon UK but the listing includes the date listed on the site:  Jan. 17, 2015 -- nothing like the 1980s!

UPDATE DECEMBER 02:  she's at it again!  Buyers Beware!!!

Just listed a few days ago is another brand new vintage style ball wall clock that this mega-mendacious fake vintage reseller claims is "Vintage from the 1970s".  Priced at $199.50, on sale from regular price $399.  Seller claims it is 40+ year old original Nelson, and is hanging on her wall.  But why does the listing show photo images borrowed from a contemporary manufacturer of cheapie vintage style knock-offs?  02/17:  Another unit has been listed (4 previously listed and sold using the same photos) .  This time the price is $299!  Once again, it's fake dated to the 1970s and is hanging on the shop owner's wall (yeah, sure).

If you want the clock shown in the image above, you can do much better on price.  Get it from the manufacturer on Amazon where you will pay just $54.95 with FREE shipping and a 1-year limited warranty.  Get it on eBay for $49.95.  Resold by several merchants on their own sites, same brand, similar price.

DECEMBER 28:  still going with fake vintage items!

This contemporary version of a Nelson "block clock" is pretending to be "Vintage from the 1990s".  It's not vintage -- it's new!  Priced at $140 (on sale from "original" price of $350).

Photo above, used as the listing thumbnail, was "borrowed" from the manufacturer and is used by merchants selling the same clock NEW.  It's backordered HERE where the inventory sold out after the price was reduced to $153 -- a few $$$ more than Goodtimesvtg is asking.  A version with the same color blocks, but with a second hand, can be found on WAL-MART's site.

FEBRUARY 12:  here's another one!  Just listed today is this contemporary Mickey Mouse figural plastic watering can pretending to be "Vintage from the 1970s".  Priced at $99.  Seller claims the piece is in "excellent used condition", but the photos tell a different story. I'd rate it good at best, considering it's NOT OLD, just a cheaply mass manufactured item from a Chinese sweatshop.  For reference, it can't be older than the plastic recycling symbol stamped onto the base -- and these symbols were DEVELOPED in 1988.

The mark stamped on the bottom clearly says "Made In China" -- which means it's much newer than the 1970s.  (Forget The Wonderful World of Disney.  When did Nixon visit China?)  Was recently sold on WAL-MART's site for under $9, with the one review from a shopper who purchased it NEW dated 2013. There are maybe a dozen examples of this item for sale on the various resale sites like eBay, Poshmark, and shopgoodwill.  Prices vary from $2 to about $25 -- and most of them are actually in excellent used condition.  But I'm eagerly anticipating a dumb bunny Etsy shopper overpaying the mendacious Goodtimesvtg for this commonly found newer collectible.  Oh, and it is currently offered in a "replica" version on Ali Baba.

APRIL 28: still going!  Am adding recent listings here so that, when you purchase the items, your friends can show you this post to tell you how much $$$ you gave to this mendacious reseller basically for nothing.

Here's a pair of sun and moon earrings pretending to be "Vintage from the 1990s".  Priced at $79.60 (on sale from regular price of $199).  Unlike authentic vintage earrings of this style, the crystals are plastic -- which the seller mentions in the description.  But then goes on to say the stones are "moonstone" and "turquoise", and the earrings are "in perfect condition".  And why wouldn't they be, since they are in fact brand new.

The photo from the listing belongs to the Chinese manufacturer.  If you like them, you can buy them direct from China on AliExpress for less than $3 (including shipping) -- a savings of more than $75 over the sales price currently offered in the listing from Goodtimesvtg.  But please do buy them on Etsy, and leave a glowing review.  The world wants to know who will pay $80 for $1 earrings!

Here's a scepter figural brooch pretending to be "Vintage from the 1990s".  Of course, it's NEW.  The materials list says it's made with "seed pearls", but it's really plastic bling set into base metal.  Priced at $50 (on sale from regular price of $125), but you can do much better than that.  Get it on Amazon for just $7.48.  The Amazon listing says it's still in production, and was first listed for sale on that site on August 7. 2018 -- NOT the 1990s.  Just $5 on Wish  Many listings on eBay, priced at about $12.

Here's a brand new modern style globe wall light pretending to be "Vintage from the 1970s".  Priced at $199.60 (sale price reduced from $499).  Am laughing so hard I can barely type!  This item, with a few very minor variations is all over the web for sale at less than $100.  These are made in China.  The seller claims the globe is "hand blown" glass, but offers no information or images to back up that claim.  This is really an inexpensive fixture mass manufactured in an Asian sweatshop, but please DO pay this mendacious reseller for their deceptiveness!

Where to buy?  On eBay for $59.99 (shipping is FREE).  Same price on AliExpress  Many more listings online.

JULY 19:  still going!  How about a brand new, retro style, land line phone pretending to be "vintage from the 1970s"?  This is apparently an easy sell to shoppers too young to know that push button dial telephones in the 70s didn't have a fake dial arrangement.  Seller's description says it's "a twist on the 1960s" which means IT'S NOT OLD.  There were no 1960s (or 1970s) phones like this one.  Priced originally at $350, it's on sale for $107.40.  These sell online NEW from about $30 to $60, and are made in a bunch of different colors (I counted a couple dozen variations).  For sale on Amazon but sold out in this color.  Do a search for the item, using the brand name, and Google will show you all the vendors and options.  Not vintage, but that hasn't stopped 2 dumb bunny Etsy shoppers from carting this piece of faux!  Photo below was borrowed from the manufacturer.

The mendacious shop owner says this rhinestone gold tone cobra snake brooch is "vintage from the 1960s" but a savvy shopper can find this one brand new on Ali Express priced at just $1.57 (also available in silver tone).  Originally priced at $64, it's on sale for $19.20.  Not vintage; not even close!

This Etsy shop has their own take on telephone scams!  Here's a black retro style land line phone pretending to be "vintage from the 1970s".  Of course, it's not old.  Was recently for sale by a merchant on WAL-MART's site  -- read the reviews!.  Was originally priced at $299, but is now on sale for $89.70.  Gotta love the BS in the description about how it was made in the 70s to "look older" -- as if that was a thing during that decade.  Plenty of American homes still had older style land lines then.  My own parents had a party line (google it) until 1978.

SEPTEMBER 21:  still going with the fake vintage!  Here's a fake vintage "LV inspired" PU convertible strap bag pretending to be "vintage from the 1990s".  Of course, it's contemporary.  Was recently sold (complete with the same bag charm!) on this Philippine site priced at less than $10.  Which means there has to be at least one dumb bunny Etsygirl who wants to pay Goodtimesvtg their Fake Vintage Stupid Tax and shell out $124!

This Nelson-inspired block spoke wall clock is pretending to be "vintage from the 1990s", but you can purchase the same item today on Amazon  (Note that the dimensions for the clock on Amazon are wrong:  a 13.5 inch diameter clock can't fit in a 12 inch box!)  Priced at $125 in Goodtimesvtg's shop (if you want to pay her Fake Vintage Stupid Tax) or less than $40 on Amazon.  This is another item that (supposedly) can't be sold on Etsy since it isn't handmade, vintage, or a crafting supply -- it's a mass manufactured contemporary item.

This Jessica Carlyle green lizard bracelet watch is pretending to be "vintage from before 2000", but a quick check on the trademark reveals the brand is less than 10 years old!  There are several of these watches for sale online where pre-owned mass made merchandise is sold, with market prices ranging from $10 to $30.  But please do pay Goodtimesvtg her Fake Vintage Stupid Tax included in her price of $79!

Here's a set of Pottery Barn Vintage Posters cocktail plates in box pretending to be "vintage from the 1970s".  Of course the seller mendaciously omits a photo showing the back of any of the plates that reveal they are made in China.  Pottery Barn had an extensive line of tableware featuring these Vintage Posters.  Not all the cocktail plates or boxes are marked with dates, but those with marks show copyright for the images is 2002.  Easy to find online at a range of prices, averaging around $25 like new in box.

And this brand new made in China squash blossom style necklace is pretending to be "vintage from the 1990s" and priced at $84.  Etsy informs us that one extremely dumb Etsybunny has it in her cart as I type.  Of course no Etsygirl would use Google Images to find the photo (below) of the pretty Asian model wearing the necklace, and find out where else this BRAND NEW item is sold.  Get it HERE on AliExpress for less than $10.  Once again, you can see how easy it is for sellers on Etsy to source their vintage items in China -- why friends don't let friends shop for vintage (or anything else) on Etsy!

More listings for items pretending to be "vintage" will be added here as they appear in the shop.

Etsy reseller dtska invites you to pre-order a Sony Playstation 5 console they claim is both handmade and vintage from the 1980s

Etsy, as my faithful readers know, welcomes resellers and their deceptive listings to the site.

Check out reseller dtska who has just a single active listing in the shop, offering a pre-order purchase of a Sony Playstation 5 console pretending to be both "handmade" and "vintage from the 1980s".  Because in the mendacious Etsyverse, an item not available yet for direct purchase can be 40-50 years old at the same time.  Priced at $520.  7 units already sold, leaving 1 unit available.

UPDATE OCT. 28:  after selling more units, the shop has been closed.

Etsy fake vintage reseller DREAMWEAVER4U2 is still at it: listing cheapie Chinese fashion from 2017 as Vintage #etsysellsvintage

It's no surprise, really.  Long term fake vintage reseller on Etsy DREAMWEAVER4U2 last featured in this blog in March 2019 is still at it:  listing cheapie Chinese products still available for sale NEW on sites like AliExpress as 20+ year old dead stock from storage Vintage.  But using the manufacturer's stock photo for the product gives it all away.  I mean, if you are going to be a fraudulent vintage seller, you should at least rub a couple of brain cells together while listing the item.

Check it out!  Titled "Upscale NEW Vintage", this contemporary cap sleeve blouse with cutwork design at the neckline is pretending to be at least 20 years old.  (It's not!).  Priced at $18.  2 units in stock, one each in beige and blue.  Both are size M, which the seller says is a US women's size.  It's not (here we go again with misrepresented sizing).  Seller says the top measures 16 inches pit to pit, or 32 inches total.  This makes it US size XS (0-2).  This is a Chinese size M but a US size XS -- US sizes can be estimated by going down 2 sizes from the Chinese label.

The one image used in the listing was "borrowed" from the Chinese manufacturer.

Here's the same item on AliExpress where it is available in Chinese sizes S, M, L, XL, and XXL -- or US equivalent sizes XXS, XS, S, M, and L.  Priced at $3.59 to $4.59, and offered in 10 color options.  The listing dates the item to 2017, which makes it Etsy legal Vintage in 2037.  It's got more than a few years to go.  Sold out on DHGATE.  Was supposedly sold at H & M.

Will add more fake vintage items here as they are listed.

Etsy Merchandising Staff offers an Insight to Vintage sellers -- a look at some of the most relevant Vintage items in top categories referenced by Etsy #etsysellsvintage

Read the hilarious load of bilge pretending to be merchandising suggestions here:  Etsy Insight: what's trending in vintage  This is especially funny considering the way Etsy removed the link to Vintage from the top of its pages in June while the replacement link "Everyday Finds" has not a single mention of Vintage anywhere either in a link or text.

Let's have a look at some of the most relevant items listed as "Vintage" on Etsy today.

Reseller sarahkpool has just one item in her Vintage shop, a "NEW!" Coleman Vista Series 2 18 ft x 48 in above ground pool  pretending to be "Vintage".  Priced at $615, on sale from original price of $1280.  One unit already sold!

Nothing about this product is "vintage".  For sale on Amazon on eBay sold out at WAL-MART  That's how #etsysellsvintage!

UPDATE AUGUST 18:  reseller sarahkpool was closed, but a new shop reselling the same pool as "Vintage from before 2000" has opened.  donpool just listed the pool today, and already 3 units have been sold.  Priced at $589.20, on sale from $982.

Appearing daily on Page 1 of the most relevant "vintage" items listed on Etsy is this cast iron wall mount bottle opener mega mass manufactured in China during the past decade.  Listed by BarnWoodIndustrial who has sold well over 1000 units, it's also available in other Etsy shops, mostly as handmade by sellers who will custom paint this item, purchased by them NEW.  Listed in the Home & Living category, where items pretending to be 20+ year old "vintage" are more relevant than authentically old pieces because they are listed on Etsy in large quantities by resellers -- and they are more likely to be purchased by Etsy's very young target market.  Priced at 99 cents.

Sold as new by Hobby Lobby  Bar Products  many sellers on eBay  on Wish as "vintage style"   Get quantity pricing when you purchase directly from China!  Here on DHGate  and on AliBaba

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 14: so many I have to find the time to feature some of them!

When fake vintage reseller WineBoxesEtc started listing wine boxes stamped with years after 2000 as "Vintage", a bunch of us started reported these listings to Etsy.  As you can see, that was a waste of time because this mendacious seller is still in action.

As you can see in the first photo in this listing for French 6 bottle wine crates the image has been changed to show mostly boxes with the dates turned to rear, and a camera angle that is out of focus, in shadow, and at an odd angle.  The original photos were bright, clear, and had the dates showing.

While it is possible that some of them date from 2000, or earlier, most of them are newer than that, and -- according to Etsy's rules -- shouldn't be listed as "Vintage" on the site.  But the "Rule of 20" for vintage on Etsy says only that a listing costs 20 cents   Vintage items can be any age on Etsy, including made-to-order to be crafted in the future after a customer purchase.  Browse around the shop, and see the dates shown on the crates in all the listings.  Not vintage.

SEPTEMBER 24:  more.

Meet reseller JusNCaseTreasures who has a shop full of brand new imported from China jewelry listings pretending to be "Vintage from before 2000".  Check out this layered chain necklace with coin pendants which is shown today on page 1 of the most relevant Vintage item listings on Etsy.  Priced at $25.  All necklace thumbnail images in the shop -- including the one below -- are stock photos "borrowed" from the manufacturer.  2 units in stock (a clue that the item in the listing is NEW, not Vintage),

If you love it, and want one, don't pay this mendacious reseller the Etsy Fake Vintage Stupid Tax.  Get it direct from China from this merchant on AliExpress priced at just $3.98.

Meet reseller HaydayTreasures who has made over 7,500 sales of mostly mass made NEW face masks pretending to be "handmade" or "vintage" -- or both!  Note that the shop name suggests the items sold are older collectibles, instead of brand new and factory fresh.  Some of the masks have political slogans printed on them that clearly date them to this year, 2020.  Every day these masks are shown by Etsy on either page 1 or page 2 of the most relevant items listed as Vintage on Etsy.  Like this Biden Harris 2020 logo face mask pretending to be "vintage".  Available for sale in quantities of 1, 5, 10, 25, 100, or 500 pieces.  497 "vintage" units in stock.  A message from Etsy on the listing says over 20 Etsy shoppers have it in their carts now as I type.  That's how #etsysellsvintage, baby!

SEPTEMBER 25:  more today.

Just listed today as "vintage" in the Home and Living category discussed in the Etsy article linked above is this handmade to order autumn wreath  Listed by NaturalEssentialSoap one of Etsy's mendacious crafters who pretend their items can be both made to order in the future as well "vintage" made at least 20 years ago.  This kind of seller is what makes dishonEtsy so special!

This brand new copy of an Art Nouveau advertising poster is listed as "Vintage from before 2000" by faux vintage seller WishWoodPrints who ships from the UK.  The poster shown below is offered in 5 sizes, with 997 "vintage" units in stock.  Also listed in the Home and Living category that Etsy says is super trendy for "vintage".  Uh huh.  Priced at $17 to $50, depending on size, a fraction of the price that an authentically old poster with this image would fetch.

OCTOBER 02:  Mass manufacturer lists brand new products in their Etsy shop as both "handmade" and "vintage" categorized as "Home and Living".

Mass manufacturer of inexpensive homewares Gifts4all Inc. has an Etsy shop where they have a few dozen products listed from their Bezrat brand  As you can see at the link for the Bezrat trademark the brand dates from 2016.  Yet this mendacious merchant lists some of their products on Etsy as both "handmade" and "vintage from before 2000".  The shop opened this year (2020) on Etsy, and already made more than 1200 sales.  More proof, if was needed, that reselling is allowed on Etsy and the way #etsysellsvintage means brand new products can be listed by manufacturer with a false claim they are 20+ years old.  The typical load of blatant dishonEtsy.

Pretending to be "Vintage from before 2000" as well as "handmade" are these mass manufactured Bezrat tempered glass hot drink mugs  listed in the Home and Living Category.

Check out this etched glass globe decanter and tumblers set pretending to be "handmade" as well as "Vintage from before 2000" -- which is impossible for a brand about 5 years old.  Listed as Home and Living.

Another fake vintage item is this etched globe glass decanter on a USA map tray  It's pretending to be "Vintage from before 2000" as well as handmade -- impossible for a brand that is 5 years old.  Pants.  On.  Fire.  Listed as Home and Living.

More:  here's another globe etched glass decanter and 2 etched tumblers with a handled tray set pretending to be "Vintage from before 2000" as well as handmade.  It's a brand new mass manufactured product from a brand just 5 years old.  Listed (again) in Home and Living.

This set of 2 map etched whiskey glasses brand new with their Bezrat branded box (a brand that is about 5 years old) is pretending to be "Vintage from before 2000" as well as handmade.  Listed in Home and Living.

This set of 2 hand painted wine glasses is pretending to be "Vintage from before 2000" as well as handmade.  Not possible for a brand that dates from 2016 -- the description clearly states they are "Bezrat Wine Glasses Set of 2".  Listed in Etsy's fav category for its "vintage", Home and Living.

This mass manufactured glass butter dish is pretending to be "Vintage from before 2000" as well as handmade.  Description clearly says it is a "Bezrat Glass Butter Dish with Lid", made by a brand that dates from about 2016.  Only in the mendacious Etsyverse can a brand new product be 20+ years old.  Listed exactly where Etsy loves to see its kind of "vintage", in Home and Living.  50 "vintage" AND "handmade" units in stock.

Because an Etsygirl can never have too much fake "vintage", here's ANOTHER glass butter dish with lid handle pretending to be "Vintage from before 2000" as well as handmade.  50 mass manufactured, brand new, units in stock.  Clearly identified in the Description as a "Bezrat Glass Butter Dish", which means it can't be older than the brand itself -- about 5 years old.  Listed in Home and Living, where Etsy loves to see its favorite kind of "vintage":  totally FAKE.

Will feature more items as time permits.
