The items shown at the Vintage link at the top right of Etsy pages never fail to inspire rueful laughter. It seems that you can now sell pretty much anything as "Vintage" on Etsy because the members of the Marketplace Integrity Team continue to be ignorant of what something being 20+ years old might mean. Am guessing they were those apple polishing babes in primary school who never figured out basic arithmetic. And that's okay in Brooklyn, because Etsygirls -- dontcha know -- just wanna have fun!
Check out Vintage fraudster shop A360 with 7 listings for face masks, and face mask making supplies, all obviously brand new but pretending to all be "Vintage".
This fake "Vintage" "lab tested silver infused" face mask was just listed today and already about 2 dozen have been sold. That leaves 977 fake "Vintage" units in stock in a buyer's choice of silver or black. Priced at $16. The images for the listing include pages of "lab certifications" for the mask, even though (supposedly) sellers are not allowed to list face masks as medical devices Well, this is Etsy, after all, and my readers know how enforcement of any rules works (not!) on the site.
This item is being shown as a "Vintage" Promoted Listing (paid ad) on the first, most relevant, page at the Vintage link at the top right of Etsy pages.
Visit the shop for more new items pretending to be "Vintage".
If it's fresh from an Asian factory, you can find it pretending to be vintage on Etsy. So, BUYERS BEWARE!
